Kicking Donkey's Seat Bag is a bikepacking saddlebag designed for long-distance trips and for riders who want to eliminate the need for a rear rack by efficiently utilizing the space under the saddle. It is a handcrafted bikepacking saddlebag, made in Italy, designed to carry compressible gear such as clothing, a sleeping bag, or bivouac equipment.

This bikepacking saddlebag is a key component of your travel setup: it keeps the load positioned towards the rear, well-centered, and stable, without compromising bike handling on dirt, gravel, or tarmac.

Available capacities and sizes

To help you choose the seatbag best suited to your bike, two standard sizes are available:

• Regular – 12 liters
  A more compact and slightly narrower version, recommended for small frames or bikes with limited clearance between the saddle and the rear wheel, to prevent any risk of contact while pedaling.
• Big – 17 liters
  Ideal for longer trips and heavier loads, it offers increased volume while maintaining stability and control.

Seat Bag materials and construction

The Kicking Donkey seatbag is made using technical materials selected to ensure strength, durability, and ease of maintenance:

• Main body made of X-Pac VX21 (Dimension Polyant), a 4-layer laminated fabric waterproof up to 13.8 bar of pressure
• Side panels made of Cordura 1000
• Bottom section made of PVC, easy to clean and designed to protect the bag in case of contact with the wheel
• Polypropylene straps and Duraflex buckles with safety lock

Mounting system and stability

Just like its sibling, the Gravel Seat Bag, this saddlebag's mounting system is engineered to ensure stability even on rough terrain:

• seatpost attachment featuring a dual-thickness safety buckle system
• internal lining made of non-slip Grip material, which improves hold and reduces seatpost abrasion
• compatible with carbon seatposts and saddles (use of protective tape is recommended)
• adjustable dual under-saddle straps for an even more secure anchor
• bottom loops for fine-tuning the second strap

The bikepacking seat bag is water-resistant, very lightweight, and highly resistant to abrasion and tearing—ideal for gravel, MTB, and touring bikes.

Note on waterproofing: although the fabric is waterproof, the bag is stitched rather than welded.
In the event of heavy, prolonged rain, we recommend using an internal nylon dry bag to protect items that must remain completely dry.
