King Kong Handle Bag

Kicking Donkey's King Kong Handle Bag is a high-capacity, robust, and versatile bikepacking handlebar bag designed for serious travelers. It is a handcrafted bag—created by cyclists for cyclists—designed for use with drop bars but highly adaptable to gravel, touring, and urban setups. It offers greater capacity and size than its counterparts, the Cheetah Handle Bag and Gravel Handle Bag.

Compared to more compact handlebar bags, the King Kong Handle Bag offers increased volume and a sturdier structure, making it ideal for carrying a tent, sleeping pad, sleeping bag, or sleeping bag liner, while maximizing the space beneath the handlebars or saddle.

Adjustable capacity and usage of the King Kong Handle Bag

One of the King Kong Handle Bag's key strengths is its adjustable capacity, making it suitable for various types of trips:

• Minimum volume: 10 liters
• Maximum volume: 18 liters

This handlebar bag is ideal for:

• multi-day bikepacking
• medium- to long-distance cycle touring
• gravel setups requiring bulky yet lightweight loads

Once properly secured, the bag remains stable and well-balanced, barely noticeable while riding—whether on tarmac or unpaved roads.

Structure and stability

The stability of the King Kong handle bag is ensured by a meticulously designed structure:

• adjustable closure straps to achieve the optimal weight-to-tension ratio
• minimal swaying and sagging when correctly mounted
• two aluminum rods inserted into the rear section to stiffen the bag
• rear structure designed for secure attachment via Velcro straps

Mounting system and versatility of the King Kong Handlebar Bag

The King Kong handlebar bag can be attached in various ways:

• directly to the handlebar or drop bars
• to the stem or steerer tube
• at the rear, on saddles equipped with metal loops

The numerous rear attachment points allow the bag to adapt to different frame geometries and travel setups.

Side pockets and functional details

• two external side pockets with contoured flaps to prevent water ingress
• easy to access even while riding
• ideal for small accessories or items needed quickly

Technical materials available for the King Kong Handlebar Bag

The Handlebar Bag is available in a choice of high-performance technical materials:

• X-Pac VX21
• X-Pac X33
• Liteskin

All materials are 4-layer laminated fabrics—waterproof and durable—featuring an inner lining tested to withstand pressures of up to 13.8 bar.

Waterproofing and usage notes

The bag is made from waterproof materials and crafted with meticulous attention to detail to ensure excellent protection for its contents.

Note on waterproofing: Although the fabric is waterproof, the bag is stitched rather than welded.
In the event of heavy, prolonged rain, we recommend protecting items that must remain completely dry by using internal nylon bags.
